I Hope It Haunts You Every Night Like It Haunted Me The Day You Left.

Detox Rule No. 1: Reminisce the bad old times

Closed room and dim lights;
I looked up at your sparkling eyes.
Your one hand reaching for mine;
and the other
slightly pulling back the fringes from my eyes.
Do you know
what I felt that time?
I felt
a sweet apprehension dipped
in the liquor of sublime;
like I am back to 16 and it’s the prom night;
and you are in a tuxedo and me dressed in Red;
so bright that you pulled me towards yourself and hold me by my waist and say,
“Are you ready Pretty Lady?” with a bright big smile.

and I would say
Yes!
Yes to you, to myself,
and to all the moments we would spend;
hidden in the blanket
under the warmth
while it would rain outside,
or in a car which you would be driving
while I would click
your photogenic yet camera conscious face, or when we would hold hands
while walking amidst a park
and all of a sudden you would stop to kiss me
and I would hold my breath.

But.

I guess I dreamt too much
Or
I guess I didn’t have the right.

For the yes was just for a night;
where my love was on sale
and
you bought it with a leverage of time.
